Between 1925 and 1941, the Gulbinėnai Manor Estate became the home of General Kazys Ladiga, who undertook the ambitious goal of transforming the manor into not only a modern farm but also a cultural oasis for the surrounding area. Under his initiative, a post office, store, primary school branches, and improved infrastructure were established on the manor grounds. General Ladiga also helped establish a chapel on the estate and contributed to the construction of the church and the formation of the parish, earning the respect and gratitude of the local community. After World War II, from 1945 to 1992, the manor buildings housed a seven-year school. Today, the manor is privately owned.
