The neo-romantic style twin-towered basilica in Panevėžys was built in 1885 under the guidance of parish priest Mykolas Chodoravičius. Its interior features a three-nave layout with three altars, and the churchyard is enclosed by a brick and metal fence. In 1887, the church installed its organs, and in 1898, it was consecrated by Bishop Gasparas Girtautas. During World War II, the church was destroyed but later rebuilt, preserving its architectural heritage. Nearby are the oldest city cemeteries, which, although no longer in use since 1960, remain well-maintained and are valued as a historical heritage.
