In one of the oldest streets of Panevėžys stands an authentic wooden house, which is over a century old and once housed the first bishop of Panevėžys, Kazimieras Paltarokas. This building served as the diocesan chancery, tribunal, and library, and featured a unique design with an attic and three veranda balconies. In 1940, the building was nationalized, and after 40 years, it was returned to the church. Today, it is a state-protected architectural and memorial site, reflecting an important part of the city's history.
