The stone known as "Saddle" is located in the Neris Riverbed, near the left bank, and has been mentioned since 1857 in Konstantinas Tiškevičius' book "Neris and Its Shores." The stone truly resembles a saddle, which is likely why it was named by the raftmen. This location, where the Neris River makes a turn, is dangerous due to the strong current, so the raftmen had to make an effort to move the rafts that got stuck on the Saddle.
