In 2003, a small barrow cemetery was discovered on the left bank of the Neris River, opposite the Karmazinai Valley. In 2004, one of the barrows was excavated, revealing three cremation graves dated to the 6th century. The men's graves contained weapons and belt buckles, while the woman's grave held fragments of jewelry. The barrow was surrounded by a stone circle, and the remains were burned on pyres before being buried.
