The sculpture Gates of Hospitality, created by renowned sculptor Tadas Gutauskas, was erected in 2013 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Sąjūdis movement. Its central motif is a Lithuanian horseshoe, symbolizing happiness, luck, and protection from evil. The horseshoe incorporates 16 symbols of happiness and luck from neighboring nations.
On the sides of the sculpture, symbols of good fortune from eight countries that bring the most tourists to Druskininkai are also featured, emphasizing these nations' importance to the resort's life and tourism sector.
