Near the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow" stands a Holocaust memorial. This site holds deep historical significance, as in the autumn of 1941, a ghetto was established here, confining nearly a thousand Jews. Surrounded by barbed wire, the ghetto became one of the tragic witnesses to the Holocaust in Druskininkai. Today, the memorial serves as a somber reminder of this dark chapter in history and honors the victims.
