A commemorative plaque honors Pranas Končius, the last partisan of the Žemaičiai District and the Kardo Unit. He lived in this location from 1956 to 1965 and was killed on July 15, 1965. The cross was erected in 2003 by the Kartenos Independence Struggle Commemoration Society, led by Juozapas Antanas Viluckas, and crafted by artisan Antanas Rudelis. The commemorative plaque was unveiled on July 19, 2014, on the initiative of Lithuanian Armed Forces Commander Lieutenant General Arvydas Pocius and was created by craftsman Pranas Jucys.
This site stands as a testament to the important struggles of the partisans for Lithuania's freedom. Visitors are invited to learn about the history of Didieji Žalimai Village and honor the defenders of freedom.
