In Žibininkai Village, within the Joskaudai Forest (Darbėnai Forestry, Block 644), stands a monument honoring the partisans of the Narimantas Company from the Kardo Unit of the Žemaičiai District: Alfonsas Knistautas, Stasys Lisauskas, Vytautas Gricys, Vytautas Sermontis, Pranas Budrys, and Vytautas Daugintis of the Bugantas Company. They perished on February 7, 1949. The monument was unveiled on October 1, 1995, through the initiative of Petras Gabrėnas, chairman of the Palanga branch of the Union of Lithuanian Political Prisoners and Deportees, and was created by sculptor Julius Vertulis.
The monument is located near Vilimas Hill, where the Narimantas Company’s underground bunker was situated. The bunker was restored in 2009, also through Petras Gabrėnas’ efforts. This site symbolizes the struggles of Lithuanian partisans for freedom and invites visitors to explore the historical heritage of the region.
