Sculptural Roofed Pillar

In the Aukštkalviai Forest, Voveraičiai Village (Kartenos Forestry, Block 136), a sculptural roofed pillar stands in memory of partisans Augustinas Kiesa and Juozas Zobernis of the Širvydas Squad in the Kardo Unit of the Žemaičiai District, who perished on January 10, 1950.
The monument was erected in 1998 through the initiative and funding of Juozas Zobernis. It was created by sculptor Virgilijus Vaičiūnas. This roofed pillar is a significant symbol honoring the struggles of Lithuanian partisans for freedom and invites visitors to explore the historical battle sites in the Kretinga region.
