Standard Memorial Marker

In the Žalimai Forest (Vaineikiai Forestry, Block 23), a standard memorial marker honors members of the Kardo Unit staff of the Žemaičiai District—Pranas Benečius, Konstantinas Lenkauskis, and partisan Pranas Jurkus—who perished on April 21, 1948. This monument stands as a tribute to the courage and sacrifice of these freedom fighters.

The marker was erected in 2015 and officially unveiled on May 13, 2016, through the initiative of the Kūlupėnai Eldership. The project was designed by artist Romas Navickas.
