In the Grūšlaukė Cemetery stands a gravestone monument dedicated to Jonas Kontrimas (1882–1973) and his wife Barbora Kontrimienė (1886–1948), known as a "mother of partisans." Jonas Kontrimas, an exile, actively supported the partisan fight for Lithuania's freedom, while Barbora Kontrimienė inspired freedom fighters with her determination and sacrifice.
The monument serves as a reminder of their lives, courage, and contribution to the struggle for an independent Lithuania. It is a symbolic site that commemorates the sacrifices of local residents for the ideals of freedom.
