A sculptural pillar featuring a bas-relief of the Crucified Christ stands in Kretinga Forest to honor Augustinas Kiesus, the last commander of the Žemaičiai Region's Kardo Unit Širvydas Squad, and partisan Juozas Zobernis, who perished in 1951. This memorial commemorates their sacrifice in the fight for Lithuania’s freedom and independence.
The pillar, created by sculptor Virgilijus Vaičiūnas, was erected in 1998. It symbolizes the courage, resilience, and faith of the partisans, preserving their legacy for future generations.
