A Lithuanian Soldier's Cross stands in the old Jakštaičiai cemetery, honoring Adomas Skersys, a partisan from the Paliomskis Squad of the Tautvaišas Company, Kardo Unit, in the Žemaičiai District. Skersys fell in battle on March 14, 1947, and was laid to rest at this site. This memorial symbolizes his sacrifice for Lithuania’s independence and the freedom of its people.
Standing in the tranquil sanctuary of the cemetery, the cross invites visitors to reflect on the historical significance of the struggles and to honor the memory of this fallen partisan. It is a place where history and reverence for the nation’s heroes converge.
