Justinas Vienožinskis, a renowned Lithuanian painter, educator, and art critic, was the founder of the Kaunas Art School. Born in 1886 in Mataučizna village, he began his artistic journey on his family’s farm in Dačiūnai, where he created many landscapes and portraits, including notable interwar figures such as Jonas Basanavičius and Juozas Tumas Vaižgantas. After losing the family homestead during the Soviet era, it was reclaimed and transformed into a memorial museum in 2011.

The museum showcases Vienožinskis' artistic works, including drawings from his studies in Krakow, family heirlooms, and stories from his friends. It also hosts art workshops, educational programs, and offers tranquil stays in a yurt. Managed by the artist’s granddaughter Nijolė, this unique site invites visitors to experience the world of art and creativity, accompanied by two friendly dogs that greet everyone who visits.
