The Obeliai History Museum, established in 1998 as a branch of the Rokiškis Regional Museum, is dedicated to commemorating Lithuania's freedom struggles and fostering national identity. The museum houses over 11,000 exhibits that document the struggles of the partisan movement, the history of the Lithuanian military, the realities of deportation, and the heritage of the Obeliai region. The museum was founded by teacher and former partisan Andrius Dručkus, whose personal collection formed the foundation of the museum.

Educational programs introduce visitors to the lives of partisans and deportees. Students can explore authentic replicas of a bunker and a deportee's barrack, experience the living conditions of that era, and try practical activities such as lighting a fire or writing a letter on birch bark. This unique site not only tells the story of Lithuania's history but also invites visitors to connect with the past through hands-on experiences.

The Obeliai History Museum, a unique branch of the Rokiškis Regional Museum established in 1998, is dedicated to commemorating Lithuania's freedom struggles, partisan history, and fostering national identity. The museum houses a collection of over 11,000 exhibits that reflect not only the battles of the Lithuanian military and partisans but also the period of deportations, the heritage of the Obeliai region, and Lithuanian folk art. Founded by teacher and former partisan Andrius Dručkus, the museum is a living tribute to the nation's fight for freedom, built upon his extensive personal collection. The museum’s educational programs offer visitors a hands-on connection to the past. The program “Life of a Freedom Fighter in a Bunker” invites students to explore a replica bunker,
try on partisan uniforms, and learn about their daily lives and struggles. A deportation-themed program allows visitors to experience the interior of a deportee's barrack, understand the harsh living conditions, and engage in practical activities such as log sawing, writing letters on birch bark, or weighing bread rations. These programs aim to deepen civic knowledge and provide an interactive way to learn about Lithuania's history. The Obeliai History Museum is not only a space for historical learning but also a center for patriotic education, where visitors can not only learn about but also feel the sacrifices made for freedom. It is an ideal destination for educational trips for students, families, or individual visitors seeking a deeper understanding of Lithuania's past.
