Rokiškis has unveiled its second large-format mural, a modern interpretation of a tree in the traditional paper-cut style. Designed by folk artist Gita Kolosovienė and brought to life by the Gyva Grafika team, this street art project highlights the beauty of Lithuania's ethnocultural heritage while breathing new life into Soviet-era architecture. These murals not only beautify the city but also promote tourism, educate about folk art traditions, and contribute to shaping the city's identity. The project was funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture and the Rokiškis District Municipality, with support from local creators and businesses.

The second large-scale mural continues the success of Rokiškis’ initial street art project. Aimed at revitalizing Soviet-era buildings, whose renovated walls often remained plain and dull, this mural—a contemporary tree in the traditional paper-cut style—was conceived by folk artist Gita Kolosovienė and executed by the Gyva Grafika team. The artwork adds aesthetic value to the city while showcasing Lithuania's folk art heritage in a modern and appealing way. The project’s mission extends beyond beautifying urban spaces to fostering sustainable culture that celebrates local talent. The murals attract tourists, educate about ethnoculture, and strengthen the city's
identity. They serve as tools for urban regeneration, revitalizing neglected areas of the city. The project was funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture and the Rokiškis District Municipality and supported by local partners, including photographer and videographer Darius Baltakys, as well as companies such as Intellmedia Solutions, Rokiškio Sirena, and Rokirta. The mural’s unveiling event featured lighting and sound support by Lukas Lešinskas and Alchemikai. This mural is not just a work of art but a significant step in shaping Rokiškis’ image as a cultural hub. It invites both residents and visitors to explore a modern take on Lithuanian folk art.
