In the town of Duokiškis, a unique “Hare Street” has been established, featuring numerous hare sculptures that symbolize the centennial of Lithuania's independence. As part of the “Give 100 Hares” campaign, these figures arrived not only from various corners of Lithuania but also from Germany, transforming the site into a distinctive tourist attraction.
The first hare was placed by the forest on an old Soviet-era boundary marker, marking the start of the former Duokiškis collective farm. This spot is about two kilometers from the town, making the hare a welcoming and farewell symbol for all who visit Duokiškis. “Hare Street” is not only a symbolic narrative of history but also a unique tourist site inviting visitors to explore the cultural traditions of this charming town.
