Legend has it that over half a century ago, Rokiškis was founded by a hunter named Rokas. The town’s name is linked to him and the abundance of hares that once thrived in the area. Rokas, fond of hunting hares, decided to settle here. To this day, the people of Rokiškis cherish hares as an essential part of the town’s symbol.
Located near the Rokiškis Regional Museum, "Hare Park" is a delightful spot for families and tourists. The park features decorative hare sculptures that not only catch the eye but also serve as benches or chairs. Visitors are invited to rest and see if their height surpasses the carrot held in the hare's paws.
