The Bradesiai Oak is an impressive botanical monument, recognized as a Lithuanian natural heritage site since 1960. This pedunculate oak (Quercus robur L.), located in Bradesiai village, Kriaunos eldership, Rokiškis district, boasts remarkable dimensions: its trunk circumference at a height of 1.3 meters is 612 cm, and it reaches a height of 29 meters. Having reached its natural maturity, the oak is in a state of stagnation, standing as a living witness to the region's history and natural beauty. Once, the area between the Bradesiai Hillfort and Lake Sartai was home to a sacred grove known as Tilteliomiškis, whose mythological significance is recalled in legends about a bridge connecting the Velikuškiai and Bradesiai hillforts. Today, the ancient oak forest is symbolized by the Bradesiai Oak, near which a sacrificial altar has been erected by Baltic faith practitioners. The site often hosts festivals and rituals, attracting both history enthusiasts and nature lovers.
