The Church of St. Anne in Obeliai, built in 1868, is an impressive example of neo-Gothic architecture. For a time, the renowned composer Mikas Petrauskas served as the church organist, conducted the choir, and founded an orchestra, contributing significantly to the cultural development of the area.
The church features a cruciform architectural layout with two towers, vaulted ceilings, and pillars. Inside, there are three Gothic altars, with the main altar adorned by a stained-glass painting of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, created in the 19th century in Warsaw. A wooden pulpit, decorated with plant motifs and gilding, also captures visitors' attention.
St. Anne's Church is not only a sacred heritage site but also a must-see destination for history and architecture enthusiasts.
