The Pušalotas Church, notable for its wooden folk architecture, was erected in 1853. Thanks to the efforts of landowner Franciszek Karpius and the community, the church was expanded and enriched with a brick bell tower. From 1855 to 1862, the renowned Lithuanian cultural promoter and folklore collector Antanas Juška served here, contributing to the church's renovation and the construction of the rectory. In 1882, the church acquired an organ, enhancing its liturgical ceremonies with music.

press ban years, Pušalotas Church became a haven for Lithuanian spirit and culture. Father Jonas Jaskevičius organized the distribution of banned literature, supported clandestine Lithuanian schools, and established a shelter. As an active participant in the independence battles, Father J. Jaskevičius significantly contributed to the activities of the Pušalotas company of the Joniškėlis partisan battalion in 1919–1920. He is buried in the churchyard, leaving a lasting legacy in the local history.
