Before the outbreak of World War I, the village community dreamt of having their own church in Skrebotiškis. This dream began to materialize in 1918, when Father Adomas Kačkus arrived in Skrebotiškis and transformed an old brick grain warehouse into a church, adding a wooden tower and a belfry. In a gesture of gratitude, farmer Juozapas Žagrakalys donated 15 hectares of land to the church in 1922. However, in 1993, the church interior suffered significant damage due to a fire, which was noticed and extinguished in time by alert community members, saving this vital place for the community.
