On December 28, 1950, a significant battle took place in Guptilčiai village, near the former Sibitis homestead, where the partisans of the Prisikėlimo (Resurrection) District clashed with units of the 25th Rifle Regiment of the MGB and MGB officers from the Dotnuva district. In this battle, Mykolas Valaitis-Lelianas, the deputy squad leader, born in 1907, and partisans Vincas Štuikys-Žiedas, born in 1929, and Alfonsas Mankauskas, born in 1928, lost their lives. Another partisan, Alfonsas Urbonas-Linelis, who was injured in the same encounter, was killed on November 23, 1953, in Ruseiniai village. To honor their memory, an 8-meter-high stainless steel cross with a polished stone plaque bearing their names and the inscription "Your fight for freedom is won" was unveiled on June 21, 1992. The monument was initiated by the relatives of the fallen and designed by architect B. Kundrotienė.
