In Skuodas district, in the town of Mosėdis, near the Bartuva River, lies a significant burial and memorial site dedicated to Lithuanian partisans. This secluded island, accessible via a wooden bridge on its southeastern side, is home to a monument commemorating the fallen fighters of the Kardo Unit. The central feature of this site is a stone chapel with a cross and shields, surrounded by ritual stones sourced from the renowned Mosėdis Stone Museum. This historical memorial honors the partisans who fought and perished between 1944 and 1953. In 1991, the people of Mosėdis erected this monument, designed by architect Alfredas Gytis Tiškus and crafted by master Vladas Lumbis, in remembrance of the fallen.
