The Skuodas Old Jewish Cemetery is a significant historical monument located on S. Nėries Street, near the Bartuva River in the southwestern part of the town. Established in the 18th century, the cemetery suffered extensive damage during the Soviet era, with most tombstones destroyed and repurposed for construction. The remaining six tombstones have been embedded in concrete to form a memorial in the shape of a six-pointed star. Covering an area of 0.5 hectares, the cemetery is surrounded by a metal fence and hedges. In 1990, a memorial stone was erected here with an inscription in Lithuanian and Hebrew: “The Old Jewish Cemetery – May it be a sacred remembrance of the deceased.” This site serves not only as a memorial but also as a culturally valuable landmark.
