The history of Vaškai Church, beginning in the 17th century, is an intriguing example of cultural and architectural heritage. The first wooden chapel, built in 1665, was gradually replaced by new structures, each reflecting the architectural features of its era and the religious and social life of the local community. In 1766, a church constructed by the nobleman Andrzej Staševskis of the Zvanagala estate elevated the site to parish status, symbolizing the local Christian heritage and spirituality. By the late 18th century, a new wooden bell tower was erected, and by the end of the 19th century, the current church was built under the initiative of pastor Bronius Stasevičius. This church uniquely combines Romanesque and Classical styles, enriched by a 25-register organ, showcasing the evolution of religious architecture and community life in Vaškai.
