This cemetery is a historical marker honoring Soviet soldiers who lost their lives in WWII. The 577 soldiers interred here include 337 unknown soldiers. The site features a fieldstone monument with polished granite plaques inscribed in Lithuanian and Russian, with the main inscription reading, "Eternal Memory to the Fallen Soviet Soldiers." Twelve additional plaques list 240 names, and there is a memorial for three border guards killed in 1941. During WWII, Mosėdis School served as a military hospital, and soldiers who died there were buried just 100 meters away.
Soldiers were laid to rest in cloaks or canvas coverings, marked with Russian wooden crosses. The last burial took place in 1945, and post-war, additional soldiers from nearby areas, such as Daukšiai and Tėveliai, were reburied here. The cemetery spans an area of 992 square meters, enclosed by a stone fence with tiled paths, and other areas planted with grass. Listed in the Lithuanian Register of Cultural Heritage, it holds protected status and serves as a memorial for the fallen, attracting visitors interested in cultural history and heritage tourism.
