This 18-meter-high, four-story structure once featured four blades and a modern wind direction-changing system. It housed four millstones: two for grinding feed grains, one for bread grains, and one for pitliavojimas (a specific type of grain milling). During the era of independent Lithuania, the mill was leased by a Jewish tenant named Moderniekas, who was later replaced by a new owner who installed a steam engine
and sawmill. The Soviet occupation authorities nationalized the mill and deported the owner to Siberia. In the early 1990s, the mill was restored and adapted for events, with an annex built nearby. However, after political changes, the renovation work ceased. In subsequent years, the building was privatized, and its premises were used as a café-bar and second-hand clothing store. Despite these efforts, the mill did not receive the necessary maintenance, leading to the deterioration of its condition: the blades fell off, the masonry began to crumble, and it lost its authentic appearance.
