In the southern part of Veisiejai town park, on the shores of Lake Ančia, stands one of the thickest ash trees in Lithuania. This impressive tree reaches a height of 30 meters, with a trunk circumference of 5.1 meters. The park, where this giant of nature grows, was planted in the late 18th century by the Masalski family, who also managed the Veisiejai Manor at the time. In 1987, the ash tree was declared a locally significant dendrological monument. According to legend, the ash tree is "blind"—it only buds in the spring when other trees have already turned green, as it "cannot see" when nature awakens.
