Ylakiai Evangelical Baptist Church

The Evangelical Lutheran prayer house in Ylakiai was established in 1897 and was later taken over by the Baptist community, which was primarily composed of Latvians. This church is often referred to as the "Latvian" church. The current red-brick building was constructed around 1932–1933, and during Soviet times, it was painted white. In 1999, with the help of foreign Baptist communities, the church underwent interior renovations, including the installation of electric heating and new flooring. Today, a community of about 40 members gathers here, holding services three times a month on Sundays in both Latvian and Lithuanian.
