The old cemetery of Margininkai village is a peaceful historical site located in the western part of Skuodas district. These inactive burial grounds, which once served as a resting place for the residents of Margininkai village, are now overgrown with old spruces and pines, giving it a mysterious atmosphere. In the center stands an impressive chapel with a sculpture of a saint created by an unknown folk artist. The cemetery features uneven terrain, with a metal cross nearby symbolizing its history. It is said that in the past, mysterious flames would frighten passersby. Known as the Plague Cemetery, this site is included in the Lithuanian Cultural Heritage Register, reflecting the area’s history and traditions.
