The Būdvietis Manor estate, located about 15 km southwest of Lazdijai, is one of the most important cultural heritage sites in the region. The history of the manor began in 1589 when Sigismund Vasa granted the nobleman Grigorijus Sveckui the right to manage these lands. The estate has preserved a unique, two-story barn built in 1803 from larch wood—a true monument of folk architecture. The building is distinguished by its gabled roof, rows of columns at the main entrance, and a remaining sack hoisting mechanism. The barn now belongs to the Būdvietis Church of Jesus of Nazareth and is protected as a cultural value.
