At this location, on September 10, 1950, the partisan Antanas Marčinskas, code-named Rambynas, was killed. According to local witnesses, he and his comrade Berželis were seen heading towards the Bestraigiškės forest, where a partisan bunker was set up. Injured, Rambynas, guided by Berželis, sought shelter and medical treatment. Unfortunately, due to a leak of confidential information, Soviet soldiers discovered the bunker. On February 6, 1951, the fighters, surrounded by stribai and soldiers, refused to surrender and chose death in the bunker. Antanas Marčinskas had joined the partisan movement in 1944 while still in school and later became the commander of the Juozapavičius battalion. On November 14, 1950, he, along with Feliksas Buikas-Balandis, was surrounded by Soviet forces at the Noragėliai school. While attempting to escape, Marčinskas was shot by enemy fire.
