In the territory of Veisiejai Regional Park, in Taikūnai Village, near Lake Vilkaičio, stands an impressive state-protected Taikūnai pine. This tree, significantly leaning toward the footbridge leading to the lake, draws the attention of visitors. Although the tree is not marked with signs, a wooden cross with a metal roof is affixed to it. Next to the pine stands a modest post commemorating the partisans of the Dainava District's Šarūnas Battalion from the Mindaugas Homeland. In the bunker that was located here, partisan squad leader Antanas Valionis-Papartis and his comrade Albinas Sakalauskas-Audra were killed on February 17, 1949, unable to escape from the MGB encirclement. The plaque on the post reads: "The site of the deaths of partisans Antanas Valionis-Papartis and Albinas Sakalauskas-Audra. 1949.02.17." Only a overgrown pit remains of the bunker.
