On the southern shore of Lake Dusios, near the Sutrės River, lies the Chapel of the Cross—a significant Catholic shrine with a rich history and legend. It is said that in 1702, when the Lithuanian army, led by Hetman Mykolo Servaco Višnioveckis, awaited the Swedish army near the lakes of Dusios and Metelis, the soldiers erected three crosses at the site where the chaplain celebrated Holy Mass, hanging an image of the Mother of God on one of the crosses. On the feast of Saints Peter and Paul, news reached the Lithuanians about the approaching Swedes.
