The Šlavantų Mound, located on a hill near the western shore of Lake Šlavantas, is an important site of Jotvingian culture. This mound features steep slopes, rising up to 1.5 meters, which transition into lower fields to the north and west, while to the south it is bordered by a narrow stream. The eastern side offers a view of the lake valley. At the foot of the mound, in the southwestern part, and across an unnamed stream, traces of an ancient settlement have been discovered. Fragments of pottery shards indicate that this area has been inhabited from the 1st millennium to the early 2nd millennium. The Šlavantų Mound is surrounded by a grove, where rare medicinal plants, such as medicinal spurge, can be found.
