This site commemorates the tragic event that took place on September 11, 1941, when 953 Jews from the town of Seirijai were killed, including 229 men, 384 women, and 340 children. After World War II, a memorial stone was erected here to symbolize remembrance and honor for the victims. The memorial plaque, inscribed in both Lithuanian and Hebrew, states: “The blood of 953 Jews: children, women, and men was shed in this place. They were brutally murdered by the Nazis and their local collaborators on 1941 09 11.” This memorial site serves as an important historical and cultural space, encouraging visitors to learn about the history of the Jewish community and to remember the painful events of the past.
