On May 14, 1946, in the Trakai forest, a confrontation occurred at this intersection of roads between the Soviet MVD army and partisans from the Dainava district's Šarūnas battalion, Mindaugas group. During these clashes, several partisans were killed, including squad leader Jonas Česnavičius (alias Dulkė, born in 1914 in Šventežeriai), Vytautas Kvedaras (alias Aras, born in 1926 or 1928 in Šlavantų village), Vytautas Saliklis (alias Apynys, from Staidarai village), and a partisan known by the alias Medelis, whose real name was Juozas Karpavičius. Later, on June 1, 1949, he was appointed chief of staff of the Juozapavičius group, but was subsequently captured by the stribai and recruited as an agent-assassin.
