On May 18, 1950, at the Stravinskai homestead, partisans from the Dainava district's Šarūnas battalion, affiliated with the Grand Duchy of Lithuania's Vytenis group, were killed when the MGB army surrounded their hideout. During this confrontation, Stasys Bučionis (alias Kalnietis, born in 1908 in Kaziuliai village, now in Lazdijai district) and Boleslovas Savickas (alias Strazdas, born in 1916 in Mikalinas village, also in the Lazdijai district) lost their lives. This location is significant not only historically but also as a tourist site, as it reveals the history of the Lithuanian partisans' struggles.
