On February 26, 1948, near Anelė Švedkauskienė's estate, the MGB set an ambush based on a report from agent "Malūnas." During the clash, Juozas Marčiulionis-Pakalnis, the commander of the A. Juozapavičius battalion of the Dainava district's Šarūnas battalion, originally from Gudoniai village, was killed along with partisan Algirdas Lisauskas-Žvalgas from Kastriškės village in the Veisiejai district. Their bodies were desecrated in Seirijai and buried in the yard of the stribai (Soviet auxiliary police). In 1995, during the construction of a water pipeline, the remains of the partisans were discovered and later reinterred in the Seirijai partisan burial site.
