At this location, in a former bunker, on October 9, 1951, partisans from the Mindaugas battalion of the Dainava district were killed: Jonas Balutis-Girėnas (born in 1928 in Prygos village, now in Lazdijai district), Vytautas Blažonis-Spindulys (born in 1930 in Mikyčiai village, now in Lazdijai district), Vladas Liesionis-Jovaras (born in 1930 in Mikyčiai village), and Antanas Motiejūnas-Stipruolis (born in 1934 in Ežerėliai village, now in Lazdijai district). It is believed that the partisans' deaths were linked to an MGB provocation, as suggested by some sources. This site is significant to the history of Lithuania's partisan resistance, and the surrounding villages and forests preserve the memory of the struggles of that time. It is an excellent destination for historical tourism enthusiasts wishing to delve deeper into Lithuania's history and explore the traces of partisan resistance.
