On September 7, 1946, decisive battles took place in a former bunker against a unit of the NKVD army, during which partisans from the Dainava district lost their lives. These battles are recorded in history as an important symbol of Lithuania’s independence, as the following partisans were killed by the traitorous agent "Silnij": Bronius Sadeckas-Klajūnas, born in 1923 (or 1924) in Nasūtai (Pertakas?) village, currently in the Lazdijai district; Vaclovas Vaikšnoras-Erdžius, born in 1922 (or 1923) in Sventijansko village, also in the Lazdijai district; and Vincas Volskas-Liūtas, born in 1920 (or 1921) in Menciškė village, which also belongs to the Lazdijai district. This bunker and its history serve as an important tourist site, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the Lithuanian partisans’ struggles and historical locations.
