The Utena (Kloviniai) Reservoir, located in the eastern part of the city near the A6 highway, was created in 1974 by constructing a dam on the Rašė River. This 100.8-hectare artificial lake was established to ensure water supply to Utena's industrial enterprises.
The reservoir's shoreline has become a popular recreation spot for both locals and tourists. One notable site is the Wedding Hill, where a folk artist meeting took place in 1987, and where oak roofed columns and sculptures, reflecting ancient Lithuanian wedding traditions, stand. These sculptures were restored in 2011 by cross-crafter Pranas Kaziūnas.
In 2015, a new green space was created around the dam, featuring convenient pathways, a fountain, a waterfall, and a small pond, becoming a center for peace and nature lovers. Utena Reservoir is an excellent place for relaxation and recreation.
