Begin your journey from Utena to Kuktiškės by turning right towards Andreikėnai. Upon reaching the railway, turn left before the tracks, and soon you will find the Pagelžkelė Spring information stand. A pathway next to it will lead you into the forest. After just a few steps, you will arrive at a set of embedded concrete where the spring flows. The spring water gushes over the edge and cascades down the slope into a nearby stream. This spring is associated with the railway, as it emerged from an excavated gravel slope between 1895 and 1899 while constructing the Lentupys–Panevėžys narrow-gauge railway. Since then, it has released about one liter

of clear and odorless water every second. In the past, travelers would stop by the spring, refreshing themselves from the heat in the summer and filling their containers with the unfrozen water in the winter before continuing their journey. In the village of Maldeikiai, near the old road from Kvykliai to Andreikėnai to Kiauliupys, locals have enjoyed the spring water for over a hundred years and still make special trips to collect it. Sometimes you might see a serpent nearby, which also loves to cool off in the water. The Pagelžkelė Spring was established by local residents half a century ago, and it is currently cared for by farmer Nerijus.
