In 2001, by the decision of the Utena
District Council, a part of this oak forest was declared the Ąžuolija Botanical Zoological Municipal Reserve, covering an area of 68.2 hectares. An educational nature trail has been established within the reserve, measuring approximately 1.6 km in length. This trail is linear, so visitors will need to return the same way upon reaching the end. An alternative route, known as the "Silence Trail," is also available, which is 2.4 km long. This forest is a great place for those who enjoy exploring nature, seeking tranquility, and going for scenic walks.
