In the Užpaliai cemetery, notable figures from Lithuania and the Užpaliai region have found their eternal rest. Buried here are the archaeologist, educator, and founder of the Utena Regional Museum, Antanas Namikas (1887–1980); Lithuanian Air Force pilot Major Juozas Namikas (1904–1940); physicist and politician Professor Antanas Žvironas (1899–1954); and the well-known book courier Juozas Baranauskas (1862–1928). The cemetery also features wood carvings by folk artist Stasys Karanauskas, including pillars dedicated to the rebels of the 1863 uprising and their leader Povilas Červinskas, as well as a pillar with reliefs of St. John Nepomuk and the Sower. The oldest monuments date back to 1877, 1879, and 1887. Additionally, there is a monument dedicated to those who died for Lithuania's freedom, erected in 1994.
