Monument in Memory of the Partisans of the Vytautas District

The monument, erected in 2009, is dedicated to the fighters of three partisan brigades from the Vytautas District. This monument was created by sculptor Vidmantas Gylikis and architect Marius Morkūnas, symbolically naming it an altar. The fighters honored by the monument were guided in their lives by three fundamental principles: Faith, Hope, and Love—for God, the Homeland, and their fellow human beings.
The composition of the monument prominently features the number "three," reflected in the three pyramid-like planes representing the three partisan brigades. The fourth plane symbolizes the earth in which we live. Above this structure, a forest seems to emerge from the mist, filled with small crosses that symbolize the brothers and sisters who sacrificed their lives for freedom. Rising above them is the Cross of the Vytis—symbol of struggle and the rebirth of the nation.
