Monument "To God and the Homeland" in the Center of Daugailiai Town

In 1938, a monument was erected in the center of Daugailiai, blessed by Archbishop Mečislovas Reinys. This monument commemorates several significant historical events: the 550th anniversary of the Christianization of Lithuania, the 25th anniversary of the Catholic Youth Union "Pavasaris," the 20th anniversary of Lithuania's independence, and the 15th anniversary of the Daugailiai Pavasarininkai group. During the Soviet era, there were attempts to destroy the monument, but it remained intact. During the period of restoration, thanks to Father Petras Baltuška, the monument was restored.
The square next to the monument serves as an important memorial site for the resistance fighters of the Daugailiai region—here, in the post-war period, murdered partisans were brought and left behind.
