In 2020, a unique historical memorial was revived on Jewish Street in Utena – the image of Shochet Kavinsky. A shochet is a person responsible for the ritual slaughter of animals and birds according to Jewish traditions. This important figure in Utena's history returned to the city in the form of art, thanks to the efforts of the Marianna Veriovkin Society, which implemented the project "Utena/Utyan." As part of this project, artists Lina Šlipavičiūtė and Lauryna Kiškytė, representing the NGO "Kiaurai sienas," transferred a life-sized image of Shochet Kavinsky onto the wall of a building. This mural is dedicated to honoring the culture and history of the Utena Litvak community.
Additionally, in the same year, a special plaque was unveiled on Jewish Street, inscribed with "Jewish Street" in Yiddish and Hebrew, further strengthening the city's connection to the heritage of the Jewish community.
